Description
Cisco Security Intelligence Operations has detected significant activity related to spam e-mail messages that claim to contain personal information from Paychex Insurance Agency for the recipient. The text in the e-mail message attempts to persuade the recipient to open the attachment to view the secure electronic file. However, the .zip attachment contains a malicious .exe file that, when executed, attempts to infect the system with malicious code.

The pyx_8839187_1_HNB.exe file in the pyx_8839187_1_HNB.zip attachment has a file size of 202,520 bytes. The MD5 checksum, which is a unique identifier of the executable, is the following string: 0xDC9174B5A8D90040CC1668CA6545D485

The security of your personal information is of the utmost importance to Paychex, so we have sent the attached as a secure electronic file.
Note: The attached file contains encrypted data. In order to view the file, you must have already installed the decryption software that was previously provided by Paychex.
