Tenable is pleased to announce availability of new Nessus patch management Windows auditing plugins. These plugins automatically validate the results of your patch management solutions and save time by helping IT security, operations, and auditing come to agreement on asset patching more quickly.
Nessus now dynamically compares its local patch status scan results with those from major patch management software for the same assets and reports discrepancies in a single report. This new capability supports IBM® Tivoli® Endpoint Manager (TEM) for Patch Management, Microsoft® System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM), Microsoft® Windows Server Update Services (WSUS), and VMware® Go.
The Nessus patch management Windows auditing plugins will:
- Present the conflicting results of Nessus’ local credentialed patch status checks for an asset alongside those from an organization’s patch management products.
- Compare two or more patch management system results against each other, reporting discrepancies.
- Report patch management systems used in the audit and confirm no conflicts were found.
The two new plugins, “Patch Management Windows Auditing Conflicts” and “Patch Management Auditing Satisfied,” are immediately available to Nessus ProfessionalFeed, Nessus Perimeter Service™, Nessus HomeFeed, and Tenable SecurityCenter™ users at no additional cost.
For more information on Nessus’ patch management auditing capabilities, view a brief video demonstration or read the “Patch Management Integration” whitepaper.
For ProfessionalFeed, Perimeter Service, or SecurityCenter customers who have questions on the new Nessus patch management auditing plugins, please contact the Tenable Support Team. Nessus HomeFeed users may consult the Tenable Discussion Forum.
